A team of Soil Scientists goes out on invitation by either communities or a farm owner to do soil surveys. The soil surveys are carried out to determine the irrigability and usability of the soils occuring in the survey area. From the soil survey, the team prepares a soils map which in turn lead to land classification and capability maps. These maps are then handed over to the Land Planners who prepare a Land Use map of the area surveyed.
