The Honourable Minister for Housing and Development will be launching the Urban Local Government Elections for year 2012. The reason for the elections is because the term of office of the current Town Board and Council members is coming to an end this year 2012. The event will take place on the 22nd of March 2012, at Esibayeni Lodge. The launch will be a breakfast meeting commencing at 08:00 am, with invited stakeholders including: City/ Town Councillors, Town Board Members, Elections and Boundary Commission, Ministry's Parliament Portfolio Committee Members, Rate Payers Association(s), Ministry of Tinkhundla and Regional Administration, Represantatives of Non-Governmental Organizations and the Press. The activity schedule for the Local Government elections will be availed in due course.
