His Majesty King Mswati 111 has assured the Swazi nation that submissions made at the People’s Parliament (Sibaya) will be consolidated and used as strategies to overcome challenges faced by the country.
The King said the People’s Parliament is the Kingdom’s highest decision making forum as it represents the views and aspirations of the Swazi people. He lauded the nation for coming together to freely present their views on how they want the country to move forward politically and economically.
The King emphasized that the People Parliament is not just a stage for people to let off steam, but to seriously map out a path to develop the country in all spheres of life. It is also a forum where Swazi people irrespective of colour or creed openly and freely advise the King on the direction the country should take.
The People’s Parliament was held over five days at Ludzidzini Royal Byre where Swazis expressed their views on all sectors of governance and economic emancipation for the Kingdom.
This is an age-old tradition deeply rooted in Swazi Culture which advocates for freedom of expression where major decisions on the country’s direction are taken.
